The Montserrat Reporter recently released an article detailing the emerging energy plans in store for Dominica. Roosevelt Skerritt, Prime Minister of Dominica, has announced plans for the country to invest EC$45 million (approximately US$17 million) into the development of a geothermal power plant. The entirety of this EC$45 million will come from the Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP). This is excellent news for the CIP, as it shows that not only do the recipients of the CIP program benefit from the investment by obtaining citizenship, the country will be benefitted as well with exciting developments such as this geothermal power plant.
Furthermore, the CIP is also funding rehabilitation efforts in the country after damages caused by Tropical Storm Erika in 2015. Projects such as this help validate the true economic aid the CIP provides the Caribbean islands, and since the living conditions on these islands are being improved, the citizenship investor who chooses to visit and/or stay will have a greatly enhanced experience.
